Though it begs the question, does The Ottoman Kitchen deliver to its name? We decided to find out for ourselves.
On what was a dreary day, we stepped in and was instantly met with the warming and welcoming atmosphere as the staff are just as inviting as the stunning interior.
Stepping in you're met with a sensory sensation with decor both turkish and decorative pleasing the eye, paired with the native music, The Ottoman Kitchen adds flavor to the air, let alone their food. What's most surprising is despite the cozy feel within the narrow dine-in is how surprisingly large, fitting for any occassion, big or small.
Seated within moments, the menu offers a plethora of turkish dishes that are sure to tantaslise your taste buds, including: mezes, salads, seafood, lamb and chicken. If you're struggling to decide, they offer platters of varying sizes that are sure to fill you and your table plentiful. All meals are served with bread, olives, and salad to satiate your hungering wait.
Ordering one of their most popular options, I had the chicken and lamb mix, a sizable portion fo three pieces of chicken and three pieces of lamb. Alongside this being traditional turkish salad. My appetite was satisfied by the large portions, considering the price of £17.90, I struggled to overcome half of my plate.
The lamb was perfectly tender and cooked to perfection, much like the chicken which had been dressed with a beautiful mix of spices, though was quite dry after the first piece. This wouldn't be much of a problem until you take into account the crippiling costs of a drink, with a can of Coke being a whopping £3.30 had me savouring every sip like it was liquid gold.
What makes the dining experience of The Ottoman Kitchen even richer is that every plate served and order taken is by a kind face. The incredibly kind staff are always there for any need, assuring your meal is the best it could possibly be.
Delicious food, a flavoursome atmosphere and welcoming staff, The Ottoman Kitchen is sure to become the regular for those fond of turkish food. And the same could be said for those simply looking for a bite to eat, but the slightly steep prices may be some food for thought.
