Northampton Cycling group go to Kingsley to Save the Planet

Cycling team Critical Mass Northampton ride in Kingsley to encourage the reduction of car pollution

Critical Mass movements have been deemed “The Cycling Revolution”, as groups of people from around the UK come together. They go on group bike rides to encourage others to stop car pollution and choose a more sustainable bike route instead.

Northampton has its own cycling group that meet monthly from March until October, on the last Friday of the month. For March, they are making their debut in Kingsley with a cycle around the racecourse.

One of the organisers, Pete, finds that there is low turnout around this time of the year due to poor

weather conditions, which can halter the positive effects of the group.

“Moving forward, we are hoping that the warmer weather will attract more cyclists and make our rides more successful.” He hopes that the numbers will increase over Summer to be able to keep the group thriving.
